Business & Finance
The Business and Finance Bureau acts as a monitor ensuring that all regulatory functions of key areas are maintained and efficiently handled in accordance with the state, federal and departmental laws, policies and regulations pertaining to financial activity, as well as technical support to all areas of the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) by establishing proper financial and regulatory procedures. The Bureau provides a variety of mandatory, periodic and ad hoc financial and performance measure reports to federal agencies, Governor's office, State legislature, and to all levels of management at ADJC. The Bureau works closely with the Department of Administration's General Accounting Office, the State Procurement Office, and the Surplus Property Management Office.

The Budget Office develops and presents the Department's annual budget request, in accordance with the Governor's instructions. Budget works with the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting, and Joint Legislative Budget Committee. The Budget Office analyzes and allocates annual appropriations to comply with legislative intent, works with program areas to analyze and project funding requirements, and prepare monthly financial status reports.

Financial Services represents the Department in inter-agency and inter-governmental forums. Financial Services provides technical support and oversight of all financial matters, including administrative support to HRIS users. Financial Services is comprised of :
Accounting - The Accounting Section processes financial transactions such as payments to vendors, payments to employees for travel, deposits, expenditure transfers and budget transfers, youth trust, parental assessment; and restitution. It also provides financial statements and management reports as well as accounting and Arizona Financial Information System (AFIS) system support.
Payroll - The Payroll Section tracks time and attendance and distributes paychecks for all ADJC employees, accounts for leave balances accurately and timely, and provides payroll information to employees, timekeepers, and the Department's Human Resources Unit.
Grants - Responsible for the coordination of the Department's grant program. This unit works with the appropriate program areas to identify the availability of funding opportunities for the Department, assembles the appropriate financial data and assists with the development of proposals in the pre-award phase, and monitoring of grant awards in the post-award phase. The Unit also acts as the liaison between the Department and governmental granting agencies.

General Services provides support for the ADJC Central Office Building which includes front desk security, mail receipt and distribution, Central Office vehicle fleet services, and tenant services. This unit also acts as a liaison for service and maintenance to all ADJC business machines.

Procurement Services responsibilities are, but not limited to, the procuring of equipment or supplies, establishing Agency contract for goods and services, contracting for professional services and intergovernmental and inter-agency service agreements for the Department.
Occupational Safety - (602) 525-3393
Occupational Safety and Environmental Services coordinates, meets, and consults with the regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with laws, rules, policies, and orders avoiding, where possible, the assessment of regulatory penalties for avoidable violations. Develops and maintains mandatory compliance programs, ADJC's safety policies, and to notify employees, offices, of unsafe work practices, methods to avoid them, and corrective actions required to mitigate the condition.

The warehouse, located at Adobe Mountain School, acts as the central receiving point for all deliveries. The warehouse provides support to ADJC by stocking supplies, such as canteen items, janitorial, equipment, clothing, and any general items needed for use by the facility.
